Top Shopping Centres in Iceland

05 Apr 2026
Iceland is a relatively small country with a specific climate, culture, and lifestyle. The truth is you won't be finding many colossal shopping malls around there, although there are one or two. Shopping centres around the country often incorporate public libraries, different local services, gyms, and food areas.

Kringlan Mall

This is the biggest shopping mall in the Icelandic capital, which consists of over 150 fashion and accessory shops, 23 places to eat, and plenty of services, including a cinema and even a public library. One of the best things about the place is its annual charity day (September 19th), when 5% of the total financial turnover goes to Foreldrahúss Vímulausrar æsku and to help the families of people with a substance abuse difficulties.

Smáralind

Smaralind shopping mall is located in Kopavogur, just about 7 kilometers away from Reykjavik City Center. Most of its shops are standard and provide nothing particularly unique, which cannot be said of its impressive, ultra-modern, and multi-screen cinema, which is among the best entertainment venues in the region.

Eiðistorg Shopping Mall

Eidistorg shopping center is yet another Icelandic mall that includes a rich public library, situated on its second floor. Except for everything mall-visitors are painfully aware of, the place also hosts a cute lactose-free ice cream and coffee house, a 24/7 grocery shop, and a pretty delightful liquor store.

Grímsbær

Grímsbær is a relatively small shopping location in Reykjavik that also hosts the Grimur hotel. It consists of a few clothing shops, a shoe repair shop, a pizzeria and bakery, a few jewelry and necessities trading points, a floristry, and a friendly hair salon.
