Planned for Summer 2026, Gdańsk's Market Hall in the Old Town looks set to become part food hall, part meeting place and part living monument—proof that in this city, even grocery shopping can come with a side order of medieval history.
Spread across three levels, the venue mixes casual street-food energy with more polished restaurant spaces. Upstairs, expect seafood, Italian cuisine and full-service dining suited to slower lunches and evening meals, while the ground floor leans toward quick bites and market-style variety, from ramen and Georgian dishes to burgers, pizza, coffee and cocktails. Downstairs, deli counters and artisanal groceries will sit alongside one of the building’s most intriguing features: exposed remains of the 12th-century Romanesque Church of St Nicholas.
