House for an Art Lover is a grand-scale realisation of a Charles Rennie Mackintosh design, built to amended plans in the 1990s in Bellahouston Park. In the basement, the Art Lover's Café is more restaurant than traditional café. A fave meeting place for ladies who lunch, its clean lines and calming colours - as in white with a touch of white - add to its sophistication. The menu includes such delightful light bites as toasted bagel with smoked salmon, seared polenta cake with aubergine caviar and char-grilled asparagus with tomato vinaigrette. There’s even a Little Art Lovers Menu to enjoy after you've rewarded the kids with the Tellytubby-like park next door.
