It is no surprise that the biggest event on the calendar in Pivka is centred on the area’s rich military history. Taking place on the third week of September, in 2015 the festival will enter its ninth year and will once again feature the re-enactment of a great historical battle at its core. Past events have seen battles from World War Two, the Illyrian Provinces and duels with the Ottomans re-enacted.
