Green Karst

Zavrh Oxen Statue

more than a year ago
As well as the land of skiers, Bloke was once known as a land of cattle dealers. Oxen were brought here, fattened up on the excellent Bloke greenery and then sold for meat in Ljubljana and Trieste. Not much remains of this legacy now, except for a large sculpture of a fattened ox, put together by Božo Strman-Mišo.
