Before bidding opens, Russell Kaplan's Ferndale showroom offers a rare chance to see everything in one place. Kaplan and his team curate the space with care, making it feel less like a traditional auction house and more like stepping into an eccentric, beautifully layered apartment filled with stories. Spread across two floors, the showroom is a destination in its own right, with a dedicated gallery space that gives artworks room to breathe. It’s worth a visit whether you’re planning to bid or just browsing for inspiration.

Expect jazz, canapés and bubbles, plus the unofficial sport of spotting who’s already mentally moving furniture into their homes. It’s the best way to scout standout pieces before bidding begins – and the atmosphere is half the experience.

How online bidding works
Pre-bids can be placed before each session, with live bidding hosted online throughout the auction period. If your pre-bid stands, the lot is yours. After a successful bid, invoices are sent via email for payment and collection. Register, browse and bid via rkauctioneers.co.za.
