Noc Kupały/the Summer Solstice is the most important day of the Slavic calendar, and Kraków's neo-pagan community comes out each year to celebrate. Moving festivities from Krakus Mound to Zakrzówek, these annual festivities include bonfires, weaving and floating wreaths in the water, chants, incantations and songs, fortune telling, dancing, fireside games, music, food and other rituals, including drinking lots of miód pitny (mead) and staying up all night to see the sunrise. If that sounds like a grand old time to you, head to the event page on FB to get all the details, including what to bring, how to dress and what Slavic hymns you should print out and bring with you. The group will meet at the end of ul. Twardowskiego, near the loop, before setting off to the ritual site. Latecomers can follow the sound of the drums.
