Built in 1613, the so-called Yellow Church is the oldest surviving religious building in Minsk. Although Orthodox, it was looted in 1707 by Peter the Great’s Cossacks. The building was closed by the Bolsheviks at the start after the October revolution, reopened by the Nazis, closed again by the Soviets in 1944 and reopened once more in 1992.
