The entrance is concealed behind a petrol station (Bashneft). This is a small zoo covering no more than a football field. The animals are enclosed in small cages. The zoo does have a wide collection of wild animals - although strangely enough it also has a Labrador dog, similarly caged. This gives visitors an opportunity to see animals closer than is usually possible in most western zoos but gives little impression of what the natural habitat is like.
