There are some stunning Slovenian wines out there, though half of them you’ve probably never heard of. Thankfully there is help at hand, head to Balthazar - a cute little wine shop in the old town - where local wine lovers and ex-sommeliers are happy to recommend great wines and there is always a bottle open to sample. In addition to top quality Slovenian wines, the shop also stock excellent wines from around the world, including vintage champagnes and interesting Italian wines.
