The family-run winery of Jakončič is something of your prototypical, multi-generational operation, going back to the mid-1800s. Each season comprises a different kind of work on the farm, the harvest of course being the end of that nervous anticipation and hope for favourable weather conditions. Their beautiful cellars then take over the leading role, seeing a range of wines to maturation and eventually onto the market; under two labels, Jakončič (including cabernet sauvignon, pinot gris, merlot, sauvignon, chardonnay, rebula) and Carolina (sparkling, malvazija).
