Nestled amongst vineyards and orchards in the hilltop village of Snežatno, this welcoming family-run farm is one of our favourite destinations in the enchanting Goriška Brda wine-growing region, with several charming guest rooms offering panoramic views of the landscape. Closely adhering to centuries-old traditional winemaking techniques, the wide-range of vintages produced here are not only strictly organic, but also natural, without the use of any unnecessary additives or invasive technologies. The extra effort results in full-bodied, complex wines that reflect the terrain from which they come. In recent years Štekar has become perhaps best known as the producer of award-winning orange wines, as well as several other specialty varieties. What's more, if you order schnapps at any number of finer restaurants across Slovenia, chances are they will be poured from a trademark squarish bottle with a red wax seal bearing the Štekar name.
