The Puklavec family has been a driving force of wine production in the beautiful hills of Jeruzalem Ormož in the far east of Slovenia since the 1930s, when the first wine cooperative was founded there by the late Martin Puklavec. Nowadays operating on the principle that 'the best things in life should be shared with others', the winery is one of Slovenia's leading producers (and exporters) under several different labels, including the ubiquitous yellow Jeruzalem Ormož label and the newer Gomila line. Grown on 1200 hectares of sunny terraced vineyards, all grapes are hand-picked and quality is further maintained by the estate's own vine nursery. While age-old growing and harvesting techniques are used, the wine itself is produced using state-of-the-art equipment, which ensures that the entire range of mostly white wines maintain their fresh, fruity and elegant flavour until they reach your table.
