For more than three decades the Kozinc family has been producing wine from their perch in the hilly forested area south of Sevnica - first as a hobby, and more recently as business that has expanded to include over 25,000 individual vines at last count. Their vineyards are located in some rough and rugged terrain that is not the easiest to cultivate, but is well worth the extra effort for the distinctive authentic taste it gives to wine. This being the Dolenjska region, the majority of the wine produced is of the Cviček variety, although they also produce some top quality white wines as well as a large amount of Modra Frankinja - the latter having the notable achievement of winning the title of Mayor's Wine for the municipality of Sevnica five out of the past seven years against some undoubtedly stiff competition in a region where wine-growing is a part of everyday life.
