Surrounded on all sides by vineyards, you'll know you're in the heart of wine country once you find this 150 year-old cottage in the hills above the village of Jablance a few kilometres south of Kostanjevica. A member of the official Cviček consortium along with a dozen or so other producers in the region, including the most prolific producer Vinska Klet Krško, the quality of the wine and traditional methods used to produce it are assured. While the views and visit to the aged wine cellar are worth the trip, English is not widely spoken here, so if you're not coming with a Slovene friend then it's best to arrange to have a guide with you.
