Up to 45 guests can be accommodated at the Štoka winery in the Karst region of Slovenia. Named (red) wine of the EuroBasket Championships in Slovenia in 2013, their Teran accounts for 70 per cent of the grape harvest on an estate covering a total of 30 hectares (seven of which are cultivated). In terms of history, viticulture in this family goes back five generations, with their first wine on the open market coming in 1989. Soon after, in 1991, they carved out a larger cellar space in the Karstic limestone for which the region is famed, where the wines have matured ever since. The tasting room, as well as the cellars themselves, provide a glorious setting in which to taste various wines and the local homemade cuisine that compliments it perfectly.
