TrianguliZona

more than a year ago
TrianguliZona will mark the tenth anniversary of their first show held in 2005. Since then, the band has performed at many festivals at home and abroad and served as a conceptual starting point for later formed bands (Capisconne, Chui, Sunrise Sessions, Sonic Diptych, etc.). Not to mention audiovisual projects which include: 52 Weeks, Happily Ever After and more... But despite various changes, TrianguliZona still remains committed to its original concept of collective improvisation and the dynamics between audio and visual communication. At this celebratory concert involving Andrej Jakuš (trumpet, electronics), Ivan Kapec (guitar), Janko Novoselić (drums) and Vladimir Končar (video), the latest works of their colleagues from Japan, electronics Sunao Inami will be presented.

TrianguliZona (Triangular zones) refers to three distinct but interdependent dimensions; image, sound and time. The group began as an experiment with only a few artists and slowly formed into an exciting genre which is difficult to resist by both performers and audience. The magic of this live experience is based on a culture of listening, ambient soundscapes and the visual universe in which we are, thanks to new technologies, drawn sometimes against our own will. In response to so much information, one instinct is created, an ‘instant’ conception that is not burdened with the preservation and accumulation of artistic artifacts than to contrast and reject. Hence, why it can be said that we are entering a dynamic zone which leaves traces with no marks! The artists participating in this event are known in the alternative scene. Don't miss their concert, 14th December at Student's Centre (Savska cesta 25).

Press:

„The songs of TrianguliZona drift somewhere inbetween electro-jazz, distant references to 70’s electric Miles Davis to ambient-flavored experimentalism. The Croatian collective is hard to catch, hard to define. Sometimes you here beautiful melodies, than you listen to the carefully played drums, than you refind yourself in some sort of experimental jazz-ambient-soundscapes.
Definitely a magnetic adventure.“

Moritz 'mo.' Sauer [Phlow Magazine]

„Under the media hype-fueled turmoil, in deeper underground zones lives a multitude of organisms, which discreetly threads its way seeking the opportunity to call our attention. Such is the case of the Croatian collective TrianguliZona.”
Eduardo Chagas [Test tube]
