The Red Peaks comprise four mountains: Ciemnak (2096 m), Krzesanica, Małołączniak, and Kopa Kondracka. Named after the orange-red colour they turn in the fall, when highland rush growing on their slopes begins to dry, these gentle peaks offer splendid views without the vertigo of Tatras' more demanding trails. However, getting here is long and tiring: your options are to take the red trail from Cudakowa Polana in the Kościeliska Valley (it branches off from the main green trail), which will take some 4h25 from the parking lot in Kiry to Ciemniak, or go via Giewont - follow the blue trail to Kondracka Przełęcz, then the yellow to Kondracka Kopa - which will take 2h25 plus the time needed to climb Giewont in the first place.
