Hotel Pod Gewontem

ul. Krupówki 1     more than a year ago
This wooden house on the corner of ul. Krupówki and ul. Nowotarska was the first hotel in Zakopane, established in 1885 by Romuald Kulig. Built with eighteen guest rooms, a restaurant, and billiard room, it remained the town's largest hotel until 1898. In the 1890s, a horse-drawn omnibus stop functioned right outside the building, marking the very beginning of public transportation in Zakopane.
