The family home of Zakopane's Homer, Sabała, is a beautiful example of authentic Podhale architecture, built before Stanisław Witkiewicz came along and set new trends. In fact, it is the oldest wooden house in Zakopane, constructed some time in the late 18th century by Sabała's father in the traditional Silesian-Spiš style. The interior briefly housed the Tatra Museum ethnographic exhibition in the eighties, but has since been restored to reflect the original decor.
