Witkiewiczówka was indeed designed by Witkiewicz, but not the one you expect (nope, not the other one, either). In fact, the architect responsible for this tranquil, tree-ringed villa was Jan Witkiewicz, AKA Koszyc, Stanisław Witkiewicz's nephew, and the engineer who built it was his dad - Stanisław's brother, also Jan. Its first owner was Stanisław's sister Maria, who ran a guesthouse here for many years; in 1931-1939 the villa was the home and atelier of Witkacy. In recent years the house was renovated and turned back into a guesthouse, so you can literally sleep in Witkacy's former workspace, if you'd like.
