Carnival is a big deal all over the area, but Ilirska Bistrica manages to stand out from the pack by adding a sprinkle of its own personality and just a little terror. For this carnival, called ‘Pust je Pršu’, the local folk dress up as the Škoromati and proceed to drive away winter with the violent clanging of their bells.
