It may not look like it today, but the largest fortification complex in Slovenia once stood at Šilentabor. A castle was built here in the late 15th century, and when one reaches the peak of the settlement it’s easy to see why a fort was needed. The entire Zeleni Kras region is full of spellbinding views and panoramas, but this was arguably our favourite. Tranquillity and beauty are found as the land stretches out in front of yours. Šilentabor provides peace for both the eyes and the mind. St Martin’s Church is also found in the settlement, with some fascinating frescoes inside.
