In the same family hands for over 100 years old, Gostilna pri Maček has a number of surprises up its sleeves to keep you interested during your meal. All of the food is prepared in only the most traditional Slovene manner, and the pizza from the pizzeria is prepared in a wood oven, which is always a plus. The menu is also delightfully varied, with horsemeat making an appearance, which is another plus. The covered terrace is the highlight though, or should we say the variety of animals on view there. There are hedgehogs, tortoises, raccoons and lord knows what else. A fascinating venue for lunch.
