Mengeš
First mentioned in writing way back in 1154, Mengeš has been a settlement of some sort since way before even the Romans arrived. What began as a peasant settlement would go on to become a crafts centre in the region, as well as the site of some of the oldest parishes in the entire country, with Mengeš parish being one of the oldest in all of Carniola.
The Pšata River dawdles through the town adding extra levels of scenic grace to an already charming little town. Mengeš might not be moving at 100 miles per hour, but sometimes time exists to be taken.
