The Kasprowy Wierch Cable Car

ul. Kuźnice 14     more than a year ago
Luckily for those unable to hike out into the mountains, there's an easy way to put yourself closer to the sky. Since 1936, this 4.3km cable car - then a marvel of engineering completed in a record-breaking seven months - has been taking passengers up to 1960 metres above sea level, just below the summit of Kasprowy Wierch. Unfortunately, its popularity has far exceeded what was predicted by its founder, transportation vice-minister Aleksander Bobkowski, meaning that long lines form in both the summer and winter seasons. If you do plan on taking the 20 minute ride, do yourself a favour and book the tickets ahead of time at b2c.pkl.pl; you can also use pkl.pl/kasprowy-wierch/ to check current conditions on Kasprowy Wierch, as the cable car won't run in very windy condtions.

The main building is located right next to the Kuźnice parking lot; buses going from the main station in the direction Kuźnice will all terminate here and run very frequently.
