In an area as rural as Loška Dolina it is easy to see the agricultural side of tradition, and this is displayed during the last weekend in May with the Ostrnice celebration. Ostrnice are piles of stacked hay, and during the festivities a number of cultural and ethnological events take place around Snežnik Castle, and both the traditional and the contemporary collide.
